Good Season, Slow Season: How to Read Your Bazi Weather Right Now

You found your Day Master. Good. That’s like knowing what kind of engine you have.

But an engine doesn’t tell you the road conditions. That’s what this post is for.

In Bazi, your life moves in seasons. Not the winter-spring-summer-fall outside your window. The seasons inside your chart. Some years you run uphill without getting tired. Other years you can’t get out of bed before noon. Neither one is your fault. You’re just in different weather.

Here’s the problem with most Western self-help. It tells you to try harder every single day. Same effort. Same attitude. Same grind. That works great if you’re in your summer season. But if you’re in your winter season? Grinding just burns you out.

Bazi doesn’t ask you to fight the weather. It asks you to dress for it.

So how do you know what season you’re in right now? I’ll teach you two simple concepts. No calculations required. Just honest looking-back.

The Ten-Year Season (Big Luck)

In Bazi, your life is divided into ten-year blocks. Each block has a different element and energy. Think of it as your decade-long weather pattern.

When you’re in a Wood decade, you grow fast. New jobs, new cities, new relationships. Things happen whether you’re ready or not.

A Fire decade? You get seen. Promotions, recognition, attention. People finally notice your work.

Earth decades are heavy. You carry responsibilities – family, mortgages, caring for aging parents. Not exciting. But necessary.

Metal decades cut things away. You lose people. You leave jobs. It hurts, but you come out cleaner.

Water decades feel strange. Deep. Quiet. You might feel lost, but you’re actually downloading wisdom you’ll use later.

Most people hate their Water decades because nothing seems to happen. Then five years later they realize: that was the decade I figured out who I actually am.

The One-Year Season (Annual Energy)

Your ten-year season is the big weather. But every year also has its own small weather.

You don’t need to memorize Chinese zodiac animals for this. Just ask one question: Does this year’s energy feel like it’s adding to me or taking from me?

Some years, everything you touch works. You say yes to three projects and all three succeed. That’s a year that adds.

Other years, you break your phone, catch two colds, and fight with people you love. Nothing dramatic. Just… friction. That’s a year that takes.

Here’s the Bazi secret most paid courses won’t tell you: Taking years are not bad years. They’re clearing years. They remove what doesn’t belong. The friend who ghosts you during a taking year? They were never your real friend. The job you lose? It was already dead inside.

How to read your own weather right now – no software required

Do this tonight. Takes ten minutes.

Write down the last three years of your life. Next to each year, write one word: Full, Empty, or Mixed.

Full year: you felt busy, visible, productive.
Empty year: you felt tired, invisible, stuck.
Mixed: both.

Now look at the pattern. If you had two Full years in a row followed by an Empty year – congratulations. You just found your natural rhythm. You’re supposed to rest in Empty years. That’s not laziness. That’s agriculture.

Most Westerners fail at Bazi because they treat every year like a Full year. Then they burn out and blame themselves. The person who knows they’re in a Slow Season doesn’t grind harder. They sleep more. Say no more. Finish old projects instead of starting new ones.

A real example

I know a Yang Fire woman. Classic sun energy. Always doing things for everyone. She hit a Water year and felt like she was drowning. Couldn’t focus. Cried for no reason. Her friends told her to see a therapist. Instead, she checked her Bazi season. Water year. Rest year.

She stopped fighting. Slept nine hours a night. Canceled half her commitments. Six months later, she wasn’t depressed anymore. She was just done resting. The Water passed. Her Fire came back.

That’s not a success story. That’s just wearing the right clothes for the weather.

So where are you right now?

No chart. No calculator. Just your gut.

Does this year feel like summer – hot, busy, seen? Or like winter – cold, slow, hidden?

If you don’t know yet, that’s fine. Just watch the next three months. Notice when things feel easy and when they feel heavy. That’s your Bazi talking.
